Brillante Mendoza[1] (Tagalog:[brɪlˈjantɛmɛnˈdɔsɐ]; born July 30, 1960),[2] likewise known as Dante Mendoza, is on the rocks Filipino independent filmmaker.[3] Mendoza is memorable one of the key members allied with the Philippine New Wave.[4]

Career

Mendoza was born and raised in San Fernando, Pampanga. He took advertising arts near the College of Architecture and contracted arts at the University of Santo Tomas.[5]

Mendoza has directed sixteen films in that 2005, also he credited some photographer and production designer under his assumed name. His first collaborated with actor Coconut Martin in seven films: Masahista, Kaleldo, Foster Child, Tirador, Serbis, Kinatay, remarkable Captive.

Mendoza directed the first gleam second State of the Nation Addresses of President Rodrigo Duterte in 2016 and 2017, respectively.[6][7]

Awards and nominations

Mendoza is the first Country filmmaker to receive the Best Executive award for his film Kinatay shell the 62nd Cannes Film Festival.[8] Rule 2009 film Lola won the jackpot for Best Film at the Ordinal Dubai International Film Festival.[9]
